WWE is about to get Rowdy.
As Asuka stood between Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss and SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair, she looked ready to choose exactly who she would face in a couple of months on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. In fact, this is pretty special to the former UFC bantamweight champion.
"This is my life now. Yeah, they have first priority on my time for the next several years", she said. "This is not a publicity stunt", Rousey.
"I'm just so incredibly lucky", she told a WWE reporter, "I'm aware of it, I'm very aware of it". Instead, Rousey waited until after the match was already over as her signature music "Bad Reputation" from Joan Jett hit the loudspeakers and she made her walk to the ring.
The report stressed that if you weren't a member of the McMahon family, or your name wasn't Kevin Dunn, then you didn't know that this was going to happen. Rousey now has her hand in many different business ventures including the WWE, movies, television and a possible return to the UFC. A handshake with Stephanie McMahon, the company's chief brand officer, followed before one final point to the sign.
It's hard to imagine Rousey not showing up.
"It's amusing - it's kind of like acting, in that it was something I always wanted to do but I never thought was in the cards for me".
Ronda was caught leaving Los Angeles last week (ends26Jan18) and told TMZ cameras she was off to South America. She did tease that she is not retired from MMA in a recent interview with ESPN. "She's a fascinating person and an intense, incredible athlete".
Ronda Rousey will author the next chapter of her fighting career inside the ring. "It's amusing. It's kind of like acting, in that it was something I always wanted to do but I never thought was in the cards for me", Rousey told ESPN.
And just like her splash in the Octagon, headlining UFC 157 in her debut appearance, Rousey made her first WWE appearance as a full-time performer on one of the pro wrestling promotion's biggest stages.
Now, Rousey is attempting to bring White into the wrestling world. And how did you feel about the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble overall?
"This is my life now", Rousey told ESPN.com of her decision to join WWE.
"I wouldn't doubt myself doing anything", Rousey said. Four Horsewomen match. "I wouldn't expect it to be a match like that".
