The company took the stage and poked a little fun at Apple, saying that they are going to introduce an infinity display without the need for a notch.
Cameras: Super speed dual pixel 12 megapixel with OIS and mechanical dual aperture (f/1.5 and f/2.4). After the major upgrade that was last year's Galaxy S8 line, Samsung isn't doing too much with the new Galaxy S9.
But Mr Husson pointed that Samsung has a "great marketing window" with the early S9 launch, as its main competitors in the premium Android market, such as LG and Huawei, are not expected to launch any new flagships at MWC. The camera is also capable of 960 fps super sow-motion video recording. Samsung has also added AR emoji that allows users to create a personal emoji.
Inside the S9 and S9+ are similar tech specs to that of the S8 and S8+.
If you go for the costlier and more powerful Plus model, you'll get 6GB RAM, bigger 6.2-inch screen, 3,500 mAh battery, and secondary telephoto camera.
The S9 will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 chip (US) or Exynos 9810 (everywhere else).
Bixby Assistant. Samsung positions this to battle the Google Assistant but previous year, S8's Bixby failed to hold a candle to Google's Assistant so it will be interesting to see how Bixby fares this time around.
The new phone's biggest selling point is a collection of minor improvements to its camera, which is already among the best in the smartphone business.
The Galaxy S9 phones were unveiled Sunday in Barcelona, Spain, and will be available March 16. Much like Apple iPhone X's Animoji, the Galaxy S9's camera lets you create animated emojis of yourself which you can customise further. Apart from this, Samsung has also added their version of animojis in S9 and S9 Plus which can turn you into an emoji, which can be shared via Samsung's messaging app, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or Gifs.
And the S9 camera has a geeky but impressive trick on its aperture, the opening where light comes in.
If you're looking to get more control from your phone's camera, however, you can also manually switch between these two modes in the Pro camera mode. The S9+ also a sports a dual rear camera setup.
Samsung has upgraded the cameras on the Galaxy S9 and S9+ with a lot of new features.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ support three different biometric authentication options - iris, fingerprint, and facial recognition. Users can translate foreign languages and currency in real time by pointing the camera at the text, as well as access online information about the objects in view, such as where to buy products in the real world. For all those that like to take in a good amount of media on your phones and don't want headphones plugged in (yes the headphone jack is still there) you may not have to worry about that tinny mono speaker of the past.
