As a refresher, multiple sources, including KGI Securities - the market analytics firm associated with noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo - and Bloomberg, have predicted Apple will release three new iPhones later this year.
Apple is hoping to return to the head of the class in the competition to get high-tech products into USA classrooms. Apple is also expected to announce a new 6.5-inch "iPhone X Plus" with an OLED display, as well as a 6.1-inch variant with an LCD screen. With the PRODUCT (Red) variant rumoured to make a comeback, the iPhone X could spark interest amongst Apple fans as well as those looking for fashionable smartphones. He said the iPhone X has seen "limited success" with prices starting at $999 and that might result in the company lowering the price by $100 to reinvigorate sales. Online reports suggest a new colour variant will be launched soon to help boost the handset's sales in the coming quarters. Perhaps that's why it needs to slash its price down a bit.
Furthermore, some analysts have raised concerns about Apple's pricing.
Notably, an earlier report had claimed that the 5.8-inch variant of the 2018 iPhone will be cheaper to manufacture, despite the OLED display.
As always, however, be cautious about rumors.
Apple executives said the company will release a iPad model that works with its pencil accessory and features an upgraded A10 Fusion chip, the same CPU that powers the iPhone 7. The question is whether Apple will drop its main iPhone series - the current model are the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus - and focus on the iPhone X lineup exclusively moving forward.
