So if you're one of those who have been playing Paragon, you just may find your favourite characters or recognize environments in future games. Earlier today, the company announced that over $12 million in Paragon assets - including characters, textures, animations, and environments - are now available for developers to use FREE OF CHARGE through the Unreal Engine Marketplace.
For novice and seasoned developers alike, this is a pretty big jackpot as there are no strings attached for using them in their own projects.
For more information on the assets, be sure to check out the official update here. Share your work on social media with us by tagging us on Facebook and using the #UE4 hashtag on Twitter and Instagram.
Epic has previously released similar free asset packs drawn from mobile hit Infinity Blade and from its evocative "Soul" engine demos.
How much do I have pay for the Paragon assets?
Nothing! They're completely free.
It's pretty easy to see what Epic is trying to do here - they're likely hoping some intrepid indie developer will take all the old Paragon assets and build a new, hopefully more successful, version of the game.
What's included in each pack?
Additional characters are also promised in the coming months, while an Unreal Engine Twitch livestream with animator Jay Hosfelt is scheduled for March 29 at 11am PST/7pm BST-and will walk those interested through how to set up animation Blueprints for Paragon characters.
Environments: The release includes over 1,500 environment assets created for the Agora and Monolith maps, including a sample map for developers to use and customize as desired.
The Announcer Audio pack includes the sound cues and.wav files for the announcer's dialogue.
