Bill talking (expletive) to our head coach before the game.
Until then, we'll just have to settle for more soundbites via Johnson and the Eagles.
Lane Johnson is campaigning for a permanent place on Bill Belichick's bulletin board. "But just because the way they won the Super Bowls, "The Patriot Way", is that how everybody is supposed to do the same thing?" The Patriots defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX to round out their phenomenal season.
On the podcast, Johnson moved to dismissing the Patriots' defense as not being "overly talented", with "containing Tom Brady" as the key to victory. Hell yes, they win.
This isn't the first time Johnson has ripped the Patriots.
Johnson also talked about how he believes many teams that go up against the Patriots lose before they even step on the field.
Johnson, who was suspended 10 games in 2016 for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, also said he wanted to show his teammates not to fear the Patriots - something he thinks happens often as a result of the team's history of success. "No, I don't. That's just the God's honest truth". I think it was they give too much respect to these (expletive) guys and everybody's (expletive) scared of them, and they're beat before they get on the field.
"They're successful, but when they go to interviews, they act like [expletive] robots", Johnson added at the time. You only get to do this job one time, so let's have fun while we're doing it. If Super Bowl MVP awards could be given to coaches, it would've belonged to Pederson.
The 2017 Pro Bowler echoed some of that language Tuesday, when Austin brought up Malcolm Jenkins, the Patriots' starting cornerback who was mysteriously benched by Belichick for nearly the entirety of the Super Bowl. That was kind of our thing going in. "Like I said, they're robots, they're told what to do".
Light was selected by New England in the second round (48th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft out of Purdue and anchored the offensive line at left tackle while protecting Tom Brady's blind side for more than a decade. I graduated top of my class in kindergarten and know that 5 is greater than 1. With that start, he joined Brady (8), Cornelius Bennett (5), John Elway (5) and Charles Haley (5) as the only players in National Football League history to start in at least five Super Bowls. He even before that game, however, talked about how the Eagles were going to find a way to win.
But it sounds like Johnson may get a chance to air his grievances with Belichick (and potentially Kraft) in the near future.
