Shortly after King posted the video on Twitter, the man was identified as Aaron M. Schlossberg. If they have the balls to come here and live off my money-I pay for their welfare.
The unidentified man is shown in a viral video complaining to an employee at Fresh Kitchen that he overheard workers using Spanish during an exchange with another customer. The manager said the man stormed off. I pay for their welfare.
When the worker tried to answer him they are bilingual and therefore they speak in both languages, the man did not accept it: "This is America", he exclaimed.
The man appears to insult the woman's appearance, pointing the phone down and saying, "Maybe you shouldn't eat that sandwich today".
To which he receives the well-earned response, "Maybe you should get hit by a vehicle, you piece of shit".
A white man, upset that employees at a NY breakfast restaurant were speaking Spanish, was recorded on Tuesday threatening to call agents from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain the workers and otherwise ranting about the employees speaking a language other than English.
The customer began his rant after seeing a lunchtime regular speaking Spanish with a Hispanic employee, the manager told the New York Daily News.
Before she started recording the video, the man was already screaming at them, according to Serrano. In the video, the man berates two females at the eatery for speaking Spanish. "Take a break from the food", the man says before walking away, to which the woman responds, "Maybe you should get hit by a vehicle, you piece of [expletive]!" As one witness explained to Gothamist, "People are taught not to be bystanders, but it's hard to get involved".
"This is America. Your staff should be speaking English, OK?" he added. "The least they could do-the least they could do is speak English". A 2011-2015 Census American Community Survey also projects Spanish speakers to be 25%, at 1.93 million.
