Keep Wales Tidy has unveiled the 91 sites across the country that have met the high standards needed to receive the prestigious Blue Flag, Green Coast Award and Seaside Award - a total of 149 awards for Wales.
Beaches in the south east to win this award are: Worthing Beach, Bognor Regis East, Littlehampton Coastguards and West Wittering.
One in four children has never swum in the sea in Britain and nearly one in five have never set foot on a British beach, research has revealed. "We'd like to thank every individual that has participated in ensuring Weymouth Beach is recognised for its brilliance".
Keep Britain Tidy's Chief Executive Allison Ogden-Newton said: "Blue Flag leads the fightback for the Blue Planet".
"Having blue flags really sends the message that this beach, or marina in this case, is very well run and sustainable, and people want to be able to factor that in to the decisions they make as tourists when they're visiting new locations".
Both the Blue Flag and Seaside Awards are the quality marks for beaches and mean that visitors can be sure that they boast top-notch facilities, are clean and safe and meet the highest environmental standards. "Hopefully next year we'll see an even greater number joining us as we drive up standards across the board".
Other places in the area who will be flying the blue flag include Wasaga Beach, and several beaches in Toronto, including Bluffer's Park Beach, Centre Island Beach and Cherry Beach.
