Either way, Ghost of Tsushima is shaping up to be a game we should keep an eye out for in the near future. At its E3 2018 press conference, Sony showed off a thrilling new look at the upcoming open-world superhero adventure featuring an all-star brawl with some of Spidey's greatest foes.
Sony was content with letting the trailer speak for itself, giving it little in the way of introduction and saying nothing about the game afterward.
Everyone here at Insomniac is working hard to finish the game and ensure it lives up to your expectations on September 7, 2018. As we were told when Ghost of Tsushima was first revealed, the game is set during the first Mongol invasion of Japan in 1274 and is set on the island of Tsushima (at least, that seems to be a fair assumption given its title). And it ends on a cliffhanger, teasing a secret character reveal.
When we last saw Spider-Man for PlayStation 4 at E3 2017, he was facing off against a figure we eventually learned was the old Marvel villain Mister Negative.
In the trailer Jin is assisted by the archer Masako, but things soon turn ugly when it comes to light that the hostage you mean to save betrayed your companion's family.
From what we have seen in the trailer, there is a lot more on offer here than there was 12 months ago.
There are plenty of goons being clobbered between the classic villain appearances as well, giving us further looks at the highly agile combat system.
Here is the first trailer for Ghost of Tsushima.
