The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority obtained the warrant in February previous year after authorities allegedly found traces of narcotics in her personal belongings that were left behind on a United flight in January to Washington, D.C. The actress said she reported the wallet missing when she realized it was not on her person. McGowan had flown in for the Women's March on Washington that day.
The actress previously suggested agents hired by disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein may be behind the incident, aimed at discrediting her for making sex assault accusations against him. Court documents say the cocaine was found in a wallet that McGowan left behind on a plane.
She has maintained her innocence; her lawyers have argued that someone planted the cocaine, possibly someone connected to Weinstein. These charges would have never been brought if it weren't for her activism as a voice for women everywhere.
"It is now public knowledge that Weinstein employed underhanded tactics to "silence" his victims", she wrote. "I assure you, this selective prosecution will be met with a strong defense".
Weinstein has since been arrested on charges of rape, committing a criminal sex act, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct in NY for which has pled not guilty.
Rose has pleaded not guilty to the case, and states that she was without the wallet for five hours before she retrieved it.
