Back in March, Huawei unveiled the first smartphone with a triple camera setup and DxOMark said that smartphones with four cameras will soon become very common. For those who do not know the brand, Light is a for-profit company focused on revolutionizing the photo industry.
Light, a company that makes devices with a lot of cameras, might soon release a smartphone with up to nine lenses. The L16 is nothing to turn one's nose up at dismissively. The multiple lenses work simultaneously to capture an image, each at a different focal length.
If you have to see the L16 and buy it for yourself, you may have to pump the brakes.
Currently, the L16 costs $1,950, according to the report.
Light might have just been ahead of the curve with its product idea, but now that we're getting more used to the concept of multiple-lensed cameras, the company is working to bring a new smartphone to the world that will sport anywhere from five to nine lenses. This phone has seven fewer lenses, but also requires a processor, screen, and other phone-specific features. It's now working on a smartphone. Light plans to go above and beyond with their new designs.
Light took the point-and-shoot to the next level and designed their camera to take photos with DSLR-level quality and it was quite the journey, considering it all started as a crowd-funding project back in 2015.
