Orange is the New Black changes things up dramatically by moving the Litchfield ladies out of Litchfield and dumping them in maximum security.
The women of Litchfield have entered a completely new world in the Orange Is the New Black season 6 trailer, which Netflix dropped Monday morning.
Created by Jenji Kohan and based on Piper Kerman's memoir of the same name, Orange is the New Black has garnered 12 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, and won three.
All of season six will be put on Netflix on 27 July, and naturally fans are absolutely buzzing. The first official trailer teases major drama ahead as the women try to navigate complicated new dynamics. It's a fair expectation for that to be resolved in season six. All we know is that we don't think we trust her. "We have iron wills and f-ing nothing to lose".
SPOILER ALERT: When Orange is the New Black Season 5 concluded, the following characters were bunkered in an old gym inside the prison, awaiting armed guards' arrival: Piper (Taylor Schilling), Alex (Laura Prepon), Suzanne (Uzo Aduba), Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Red (Kate Mulgrew), Frieda (Dale Soules), Nicky, Gloria (Selenis Leyva), Blanca (Laura Gomez), and Cindy (Adrienne C Moore). Maybe she was sent to a different prison? The core group now finds itself in maximum security, where the game is not what they are used to - blues and khakis join the mix - and the pressure to roll over on their friends emerges.
"Will they take plea deals and turn on each other or band together and keep their bonds intact?" asks the show's press release.
