The OnePlus 6 Red is described by company CEO Pete Lau as a "true representation of our values regarding product and industrial design", with a shade of red that's "passionate but with a level of visual restraint", as well as not too bright and therefore "visually burdensome".
Unlike the previous variants, the OnePlus 6 Red Edition is claimed to be designed through a "never-done-before" technique using optical coating, evaporative film, and six panels of glass. But, he added, this process has created a more durable and "elegant" red sheen that's expected to last "for years to come". The OnePlus 6 is already available in three colour options- Midnight Black, Mirror Black and Silk White.
The OnePlus 6 Red is now available for registrations on Amazon India.
The OnePlus 6 Red will ship exclusively with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and will otherwise include the same spec sheet as the other color variants.
As usual, a new color finish revealed a new set of technical challenges that the company had to tackle. The OnePlus 5T Lava Red was inspired by the color of cooling lava.
On top of that, the design team used an "evaporated layer of brightening film that cost around $5 to make crystal clear", to increase the brightness of the red coating on a phone that shouldn't be "overly bright". We see individual colors as a way to express certain feelings or ideas.
OnePlus has just introduced the Amber Red OnePlus 6 in China. As the color red represents courage and inner confidence, this red model also shows power.
Long story short, if you like red, then the OnePlus 6 should be on your list. Are you going to try to snag one later this month? Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned. It will be priced the same as the regular 8GB RAM/128GB OnePlus 6 variant.
