Now, Pitt and his team are fighting back, slamming Jolie's allegations as "manipulative" and essentially saying she's doing this to come across as the victor of the ruthless news cycle surrounding their relationship.
Brad's lawyers say Angelina and her lawyers have engaged in dirty tricks, calling them out for "a thinly-veiled effort to manipulate media coverage".
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce and custody battle is bringing up a lot of frustrations, especially for Brad, who fears his ex-wife's actions may be doing more bad than good for their six children. "Angelina will of course honour that loan".
According to The Richest, Jolie's net worth is $160 million while Pitt's is $260 million.
Another important takeaway? Jolie is seeking "retroactive child support" and asking the court to "bifurcate" their marital status, which essentially means she's seeking "single" status while the complex divorce proceedings continue to unfold.
"Following the incident of September 2016, Angelina and the children needed to move from the family home, which Brad chose to keep, including all of its contents", DeJean said in a statement obtained by ET Canada. "Angelina has had to shoulder the majority of those without his contribution for the past two years".
Spiegel claims Pitt "loaned" Jolie $US8 million ($AUD10.7 million) to help her purchase her current house and has contributed over $US1.3 million ($AUD1.7 million) "in bills for the benefit of [Jolie] and the minor children".
They tied the knot in a secret ceremony in August 2014, and share six children together: Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 10.
But Pitt says he has given Jolie $1.3m (e1.1m) and lent her another $8m since their separation.
Pitt was investigated for possible child abuse after losing his temper in front of some of the children, but was later cleared of the allegations. He is going to use everything he can against her in court to insure that he gets as much custody of the kids as possible.
