Harvick appeared to be in a league of his own at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver clinching his 44th victory - tying him with Bill Elliott for 17th on the all-time list.
Harvick and the No. 4 team can accomplish all of those goals with a win this weekend in the team's final visit to MI in 2018.
Denny Hamlin will start on the pole as he searches for his first win of the season.
Harvick won each of three stages and led 108 laps, more than four times more than anyone else on the 2-mile oval. Prior to that, Jeff Gordon turned in an incredible streak of three consecutive seasons with the mark - 1996 (10 wins), 1997 (10 wins) and 1998 (13 wins). He then climbed in his dad's number four Ford for a ride to victory lane, where he emerged from the auto to cheers.

Ford claimed the Michigan Heritage Trophy thanks to the win by Harvick. He was able to make it around to finish fourth.
"So with that in mind, it's good for everybody's morale at Team Penske, and on the No. 2 team as well, but of course we want to break through and win as well". Though he drifted outside the top 10 in the first stage, Dillon finished fifth in the second stage and steadily climbed forward during the final 70 laps.
Less than 10 laps, in, though, Erik Jones brought out the first caution for a spin and a trip into the grass.
Finishing third was points leader Kyle Busch of Joe Gibbs Racing.
The competition caution was waved on lap 25, during which Busch beat Harvick off pit road.
The next issue for Truex came when he lost eight spots on a pit stop following the first stage. Martin Truex Jr. was running with the leaders before running out of gas and going into the pits, which were closed. His lead did not last long as Kyle Busch quickly passed him for the spot.
Kevin Harvick has won his second straight stage at Michigan International Speedway, leading Kyle Busch after 120 of 200 laps at the Consumer Energy 400. Still, he has an average finish of 11.11 at the track and a driver rating of 96.2 here. He's now fourth in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup standings. The series will return on August 11 for the Consumers Energy 400.
In the regular-season series standings, Kyle Busch maintained a 62-point lead over Harvick.
