Xiaomi is set to launch the Mi A2, its second smartphone based on Android One, in India today. This means Xiaomi Mi A2 will be eligible for an Android Pie update whenever Google makes it available for other phones.
Xiaomi Mi A2 features the same 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro have. Ahead of the official launch, the Mi A2 was spotted on Amazon India with its price. Now, as reported by MySmartPrice, the same model is available for pre-order on Amazon.in app for Rs. 17,499. In contrast with Flipkart, Mi.com is offering the Redmi 5A with a few offers - 15 percent SuperCash cashback from MobiKwik, up to Rs. 2,000; 10 percent cashback up to Rs. 150 from Paytm; Rs. 700 discount on domestic flight tickets and Rs. 2,200 discount on worldwide flights from Ixigo; a Rs. 2,200 cashback from Jio on Rs. 198 and Rs. 299 recharges; and a free 3-month subscription to Hungama Music.
Now, the Redmi 5A price in India starts at Rs. 5,999 for the 2GB RAM/ 16GB storage variant, and goes up to Rs. 6,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage and a 3,730mAh battery. It has been four years and the company has taken on the competition to local as well as other Chinese smartphone makers while taking the fight to industry giants such as Samsung and Lenovo-owned Motorola.
On paper, Xiaomi Mi A2 holds a 12 MP and 20 MP dual camera setup, both having a f/1.8 aperture. They are aided by phase-detection autofocus, and a dual-tone dual-LED flash. The Mi A2 features considerable improvements in design and camera over the outgoing device. But it does come with Electronic Image Stabilization to ensure good video quality.
Mi A2 is exclusively launching Quick Charge 4.0 for Indian customers. The company has announced the Mi 8 in China as their new flagship and it is expected that the phone will launch in India this month.
