Fans responded to the trailer enthusiastically, excited to see the action/adventure of this beloved character as well as the setting of the 1990's - years before Captain Marvel eventually swoops in to help the remaining Avengers and Guardians in the now untitled fourth Avengers film.
After months of anticipation, Marvel Studios dropped the trailer for its new film - and latest superhero: Captain Marvel.
One scene from the trailer has gained attention from many people online.
The film sees Samuel L. Jackson's Fury with both his eyes though it seems we'll actually see how he ended up with one too.
The teaser for "Captain Marvel", which debuted on "Good Morning America" Tuesday, gave viewers an action-packed look at Brie Larson in the title role. A lot of people loved Captain Marvel punching an old woman in the face, though some were perplexed. When the two eventually met Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy, Rocket attempted to kill Chewie, correctly identifying it as part of the unsafe alien species known as the Flerken.
Rather than acting as the leader of Marvel Rising's iteration of Alpha Flight, Carol will mentor her team of young Secret Warriors just as Earth becomes imperilled by yet another alien invasion.
The Captain Marvel poster also had a special furry addition - Carol's "cat" Chewie.
"Captain Marvel" (due in theaters in March 8, 2019) goes back in time to the 1990s to explore the tale of Air Force Captain Carol Danvers, a badass pilot who gains superpowers when she's accidentally infused with alien Kree blood.
