Antonio Brown caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger in the third-quarter for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He forced two fumbles, recorded two sacks and rushed Roethlisberger into making some indecisive throws.
The Browns remain winless since December 24, 2016, but at least they have a positive after going 0-16 last season, just the second team in league history to lose all 16 games.
Sutton, however, also gave up a score when Josh Gordon made a spectacular leaping grab at the goal line to tie the game and Artie Burns briefly found himself on the sideline after losing his composure thanks to a little trash talk from Cleveland wide receiver Jarvis Landry.
It wasn't all bad for Steelers defense, though.
It was the league's first Week 1 tie since 1971, and the first time in 133 games the Browns and Steelers couldn't settle their rivalry on the field. He also caught one pass for three yards.
With the Steelers' Le'Veon Bell holding out, Conner played like a Pro Bowl running back, rushing for 135 yards 31 carries and two TDs.
Sutton, a former standout cornerback and punt returner for the Vols, came up huge for the Steelers in their 2018 season opener against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Bell and the Steelers failed to reach a long-term contract in each of the past two summers, and the running back isn't happy about playing on the franchise tag. That march tied the game at 7 with 10:05 left in the quarter.
Tyrod Taylor responded with a touchdown run of his own to tie the game at 7-7 with about ten minutes left in the third quarter.
Jackson said Gordon wouldn't start the game. "We move on." Gordon played 68 snaps, but was only targeted three times. Haden underwent testing on Monday to determine the severity. "It was called multiple times throughout the game". The Browns were at the Steelers 43 when Taylor heaved a deep pass for Gordon.
Garrett got one of the things he came for: his first sack of Roethlisberger, whom he vowed to "chop down" past year shortly after being drafted No. 1 overall. Taylor found Rashard Higgins for a 38-yard pass down the right flank on the first play of the drive to set up a 1st and 10 on the Pittsburgh 17-yard-line.
It was a tough week for Browns rookie guard Austin Corbett.
