Legendary singer and actress Olivia Newton-John has revealed that she's living with cancer for the third time.
Speaking of her "secret" second bout of cancer, Newton-John reveals the diagnosis came about in May 2012 following a auto accident involving her niece TottieGoldsmith.
She bounced back and returned to the stage, but last month, she had to cancel two speaking appearances amid reports suggesting she was sick again.
In a new interview with Australia's Sunday Night programme, Newton-John revealed doctors discovered a tumour at the base of her spine past year.
Olivia sits down with Sunday Night's Alex Cullen for this very candid interview to reveal the secret she's refused to tell until now.
"I thought, 'It's my life, ' and I just made a decision to keep it to myself", she told the Sunday Night show.
On a drive to visit her sister Rona just before she died of brain cancer, Olivia was in a auto accident.
"I'm still treating it, and I'm treating it naturally and doing really well", she shared. "But my husband's always there - he's always there to support me, and I believe I will win over it, and that's my goal".
She also reunited with "Grease" co-star John Travolta in August for the 40 anniversary of the film's screening at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, Calif. As for why she kept her second bout with cancer on the down-low: "I thought".
She underwent a partial mastectomy and six months of treatment, including herbal formulas, meditation and focus on her diet and fitness, before getting the all clear.
The Aussie singer was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992. I see it as part of my mission. "They help with pain, they help with sleep".
She finds herself "lucky" to live in California and hopes that in her home country of Australia, medical marijuana laws will change. Yeah. My dream is that, in Australia soon, it will be available to all the cancer patients and people going through cancer that causes pain.
"A lot of cannabis, my husband grows for me", she said.
"I'm a very privileged person and I'm very aware of that". I have all the animals that I adore.
