There's no telling whether Xiaomi will be able to match Apple when it comes to the overall AirPods experience, but at $30, the AirDots are still a great deal, if you're looking for affordable wireless headphones. When Apple took to the stage to introduce the iPhone XS/XS Max and the XR, there were rumblings which suggested that Apple would launch the second generation AirPods.
As rumored earlier, the smartphone giant Xiaomi has finally unveiled it's truly wireless yet budget friendly earphones named as Mi AirDots Youth Edition, in its homeland China. They can also play and pause music, or answer and reject calls by just a touch using their fingers. But every once in a while, the company reminds us of how it started by launching a product that will look very similar to Apple's offering.
The headset competes with Apple's AirPods, and even has a similar name: Mi AirDots Youth Edition. The new Xiaomi AirDots Youth Edition is therefore particularly interesting due to their low price, which is the equivalent of only about 25 euros. Xiaomi's new TV is available for consumers to purchase in China, though its availability in global markets is unclear at this point. If the earbuds have been paired to a device previously, they automatically connect to the paired device (provided it's within range) when powered on. Mi AirDots Youth Edition earphones support true wireless stereo (TWS) technology. It also supports the Bluetooth standards HFP, A2DP, HSP, and AVRCP.
The Mi AirDots Youth Edition can deliver up to four hours of playback time in stereo mode and up to five hours of playback time in mono mode on a single charge, if what Xiaomi claims is to be believed. However, their sale will begin starting November 11 through Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, Tmall, Jingdong, and Suning.
