NAB is building a data lake on AWS using Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Redshift, and Amazon Athena to ingest, analyze, and take action on customer preferences gleaned from petabytes of satisfaction data in minutes rather than months.
These services automate multi-step processes to get customers up and running more quickly, while also centralising management of crucial elements of their AWS environment, helping maintain consistency and providing more complete visibility.
According to AWS, the new Amazon Quantum Ledger Database is a "fully managed ledger database that provides a transparent, immutable, and cryptographically verifiable transaction log owned by a central trusted authority".

But AWS is now acknowledging that many companies want to stay on-premises. It leverages the same software stack, control plane, API's, and managed service as VMware Cloud on AWS and will be sold, provisioned, operated, and supported by VMware or one of its partners.
AWS Control Tower offers pre-packaged governance rules for security, operations, and compliance, which customers can apply enterprise-wide or to groups of accounts to enforce policies or detect violations. McAfee worked closely with AWS to ensure compliance with Amazon GaurdDuty findings standards to easily integrate information into AWS. "It is a great place for developers and customers", informed Jassy.
With VMware Cloud Foundation for Amazon EC2, customers will be able to seamlessly connect and better secure all Amazon EC2 workloads with NSX and VMware AppDefense, and gain full visibility and insights into network traffic with VMware vRealize Network Insight.
The announcement comes soon after the launch of AWS Transit Gateways, which will provide a single way to manage the network resources, both in cloud and on-premises. What's more, it supports multiple machine learning frameworks, including TensorFlow, Caffe2 and ONNX. Many applications, however, must reside on-premises due to requirements such as latency, data gravity and ownership models, and therefore have historically been excluded from offering these public cloud benefits.
"Building a scalable blockchain network with existing technologies is just too hard today, and that's why customers pay expensive consultants to help them", said Rahul Pathak, General Manager, Amazon Blockchain at AWS.
Amazon, which is starting with its own hardware, will deliver and install Outposts at customers' facilities and then provide maintenance, fix the hardware and automatically update the software.
"There just isn't a lot of value in that type of on-premises offering and that's why these solutions aren't getting much traction", he added.
